(I’ve been blown away by YOUR responses from this series. So thankful to hear through email, facebook, phone calls, face to face talk, texts, and in the comments section that this stuff of finding and keeping TRUE confidence is hitting home for you as much as it is for me.)
TRUE confidence works its way from the inside to the outside. The first 5 posts of our Confident Mom Series dealt mostly with “internal” themes of growing in TRUE confidence. In the final 3 posts, I want to tackle some “external” parts of being a confident mom. I want to share some ideas for what it can look like to discover our passions, develop them, and confidently offer them to the world around us.
Here’s the truth ladies: we were made on purpose, for a purpose. And we are fully alive when we are walking towards our God-given destiny. Walking into our destiny begins with understanding our passions, and what it is that makes us unique.
Here are 3 simple tips for discovering your unique passions:
1. Look UP. Pray. Sounds simple, right? But if God made us, then He understands the why and the how behind our passions and purpose. He understands us and sees us and knows the blue prints for our lives. For more, read this post about meeting with God.
2. Look IN. Take a look inside of you. Moms often neglect their hobbies and passions for the duties at hand- but take a minute for YOU. Your family will be blessed by a mom fully alive.
Think about this: What makes you tick on the inside? What activities make you feel “fully alive”? It doesn’t have to be “ministry” or church related. God reigns over ALL creation, and He wants His glory to fill the EARTH through YOU AND ME!

3. Look AROUND. Imagine yourself at a Barnes and Noble, with a massive selection of hobby and personal interest magazines in front of you.
Which one jumps out at you? The topics you usually gravitate towards can be an indicator of your passions and interests. And many times, these interests are directly linked to the destiny God has for you. We will talk more about this in the next post.
Here’s the point: Get to know God’s heart for you. Get to know your own heart, and acknowledge what makes you come alive. As you discover your passions, you are able to be more TRULY confident in the unique ways that God created you. And as you develop and share your unique passions and gifts, the world around you will be blessed.
