I woke up Sunday morning, and my husband greeted me with the words,
“I have a surprise for you.”.
Several hours later, we arrived at a quaint resort on the Outer Banks. Tickled pink is an understatement. We are celebrating 7 years of beyond-our-wildest-imaginations-BLESSED marriage.
I am so thankful for the way God has proven Himself faithful to lead, build and bless this young marriage.
Our life together is for Him, in Him and by Him. And so, we celebrate with time away (as is our yearly custom) to enjoy God, to enjoy each other, to listen to God and to listen to each other.
Here are a few of our views as we celebrate, enjoy and listen.
Each year our marriage just keeps getting better. I could not be more grateful.
Look for more updates later in the week when I get nestled back into my kitchen writing nook
Happy Tuesday to you, my friends!! Sending you my love from the quiet shores of the Outer Banks.

Francie:
This is the sweetest and most thoughtful surprise. Congrats on the seven year mark. I can completely relate when you say it only gets better. It seems like the more complex things get and the harder you have to work the more you find God all around you. Sometimes we are amazed at how happy we are through all circumstances! Even when we feel afraid or overwhelmed there is this constant peace God gifts to us with every minute of every day. Love you guys.
Eileen

Francie – thanks for sharing your special surprise! I remember well your beautiful wedding that afternoon in Edenton and I can’t believe its been 7 years. Its been 21 years for Bill and I, and it really does get better every year! Enjoy! As always God is Good and may he continue to bless your union with happiness and love.
Carol
Wow! 21 years!! That is so wonderful. I am glad to hear that!! Thanks so much for your comment and your words of blessing.
I can definitely relate to the idea that marriage keeps getting better. I think for us, that’s because
1.) We continually learn what we don’t deserve.
2.) We’ve learned to share our prayer life.
3.) I’ve learned that spending money on my wife is never wasteful.
4.) We’ve learned how to love each-other in ways we wouldn’t necessarily want to be loved.
5.) Kids have brought things into perspective.
Thanks for sharing your joy!
Thank you! I really appreciate hearing your perspective. You are making the wisest of investments as you invest in your wife! I am sure she’s an amazing person. Thank you for your wisdom. Your words encouraged me and others I am sure.
